2016 Holiday Colors in the Arizona Desert

SRP Presents Zoolights

Sally (that would be me) and spouse Bob, along with our friends Sharon and Marc from Michigan made an evening drive to the Phoenix Zoo for their holiday zoolights display.  Upon entering the zoo we were met with a wonderfully delightful, colorful, magical and musical display of lights and Lego creations throughout the zoo. A surprise performance by the Clemson University marching band was enjoyed by all that gathered around.  The synchronized "Music-in-Motion" on the zoo lake was spectacular.

Welcome to the Christmas Holiday Season in Carefree, AZ

Boy, oh Boy, this is disappointing, I can't get the photos from the Carefree Christmas Light parade moved off my camera.  Soon as I can figure out what the problem is and get it fixed I will post some of the pictures.

As you can tell, there are an awful lot of Christmas Holiday Light shows in the Phoenix and valley area.  We sit down and review all the different options and decide which ones we want to catch for the current year. There are some really interesting displays far enough away that the four of  us will need to decide if we want to do some overnight trips to visit them.  We have eleven months to try and decide what to visit next year.

Lost in Space

Well not exactly, at least not literally SPACE.  I have the best of intentions, it's just that time can get away from me.  Sometimes I feel that time is trying to flee from me.  If you only had an inkling of what it is for me to be able to start and finish a project; it is just about an impossibility for me in this day and age.  In my days of gainful employment I had very little problem staying on track and getting my tasks completed.  For some reason, as time has marched on, I can start and with some struggling complete a project.  Some projects being far easier to tackle and bring to a finish than others.  I have been in the process of getting my office/exercise room, with piles upon piles of papers, into order and filed into their proper file folders.  Would you be shocked if I tell you, for over fourteen months, I just had those piles sitting on the floor in a closet?  When I needed to find something it didn't take much effort to actually find that one something I was in need of locating.  So, what was it, that drove me to this mission of getting these pile of papers sorted, into save, trash or shred? Believe it or not the piles were getting so high, if they were to fall over, I would never be able to find anything again!  So I am now into my week seven of sorting, trashing, shredding and I think I may actually be making some progress.  Of course I did have to take several days off from my sorting, trashing, shredding as there was preparations for Christmas.  So here I am working on my blog, when I should be working on my sorting, trashing, shredding instead.  If I could just do the sorting, trashing and shredding I would be on schedule to get the project finished, it's just that I keep stopping to read things or do research on something.  I have the attention span of a gnat, I swear I do!

Graduation day for Blogging Class Dec 22 2016

GRADUATION DAY!

Today is the final "Blogging for Beginners" class I had enrolled in and hopefully I have learned what I need to know to blog.  I will admit, I am the student that has struggled in keeping up and understanding technical things, but I have not given up even when having trouble keeping up.

You will never realize your dreams unless you reach out to grab them and learn to make them yours!
Sally Finley Harloff

If you can't laugh at some of your own stumbles and struggles, you may never learn how to overcome them.  Have the courage to ask for and reach out for help, as struggling alone will only hold you back.  Never give up.

Well, this is interesting, the most "untechie" person I know, which just happens to be me is starting a  Blog.  I have been wanting to undertake this adventure for several years. Bob and I are settled into our home at the Sun City Grand http://www.grandinfo.com/ in Surprise, Arizonia https://www.surpriseaz.gov/, not to be confused with Sun City, AZ or Sun City West, AZ.  We have done a lot of exploring of our "backyard" and I want to share some of the place we have visited and discovered; fun, fascinating, expanding our horizons with the many things we are learning about and experiencing (yes, you never will stop learning), looking, seeing, watching, listening, questioning and embracing and it makes me so happy to share.  What will I be sharing with you are art galleries we visit, museums that present art, historical, western, native American, film festivals or just free films and lectures at libraries and parks, puppet theaters as well as the theatre, music and other live lunch time venues around the valley,  Also I will introduce you to what our city of Surprise offers, our local WHAM Art Association, and not forgetting our State, counties, city, towns and villages parks, nearby National Monuments and of course hiking and walkabouts.  So for those family and friends that are hoping to see me back on Facebook, I don't see that happening anytime soon.  Being comfortable in my own skin is pretty important to me and the stress of reading posting of "fake news", year (if not decades) old repost to appear as today "news", politics and religion and yes, I am certain there are a couple categories I let get under my skin and posted a response or just started unfriending people.  I look at my Blog as sharing stories and adventures of my and my husband and our friends. If you find enjoyment you can join the email list or just ignore my Blog.  No pressure on my end to make you read my Blog, it will be entirely up to you.
